D/Mo Mystic Tank
Woot Mystic Tank 2.0
Area of Expertise:Generic PvE, Solo Farming, some PvP(RA and AB tested thus far, testing TA tonight)
Att Spread
Scythe Mastery=9(just enough for the weapon)
Earth Prayers=10(9+1)
Mysticism=16(12+1+3)
Mystic Tank 2.0
Earth Prayers=13 (12+1)
Mysticism=16(12+1+3)
Runes/Insignias
Radiant insignias= on all pieces of armor except gloves
Survivor Insignia=gloves
Major Vigor(rune)=chest
minor earth(rune)=legs
Sup Mysticism(rune)=head piece
Attunement(rune)= feet, gloves
Skills
After extensive testing in high level areas, I have found that this build is very flexible and the only skills that are mandatory are Mystic Regeneration, Mystic Vigor, and Heart of Fury.
Mystic Regeneration
Vital Boon
Mystic Vigor
Heart of Fury
Zealous Renewal
Heart of Holy Flame-or-Conviction(even higher armor)
Avatar of Balthazar(E) Or Vow of Strength(E)(once you have mastered the micro management of the build this will help)
Rez(monk for rebirth)
Mystic Tank 2.0
Same skill set, but instead of HoHF use Conviction
Weapon
Zealous is NEEDED, 20% increase in enchants would be nice, otherwise +30 hlth. +5e or 15^50 either works
-Mystic Tank 2.0 From looking at the build above, you can see that Scythe Mastery is omitted for the sake of better tanking, I recently used this build to WALK through Realm Of Torment looking for chests, it worked wonders, it's nice taking 15-18 damage from monsters that normally hit for 70-80 BWAHAHAHAHA. This build would work in a team build, you just won't be able to do damage, but, what's a tank for anyway? Also consider replacing HoHF and ZR for Veil of Thorns and Armor of Sanctity, and to help with energy management, use Ava of Lyssa. You can use pretty much any avatar with this. With Earth Prayers at the level for 2.0 you also get 4 regen for Mystic Regen and Conviction, you now can NOT suffer Degen when all enchants are up. MUHAHAHAHAHA
Ok, to start out cast the enchants all in order from first to last, then keep the enchants up at all times, if any of them falls you risk death, luckily the first three have relatively fast recharge times, so you can reapply as necessary. The last three enchants are for damage and Zealous Renewal for energy management, Heart of Holy flame can be swapped with another enchant. Use AoB if your health starts to get pressured down, otherwise you should stay at mostly full health. This build relies on you swinging and being fully enchanted to survive, the more enemies being hit the better. This build can easily be used for farming and in groups, if you are solo farming go ahead and replace rez with another skill, I prefer Dust Cloak for the blind. Watch for mesmers, they can wreak havoc on the build, and eles can be a problem but it can easily tank other classes. When you get the micro management of enchant juggling down, you can switch out the avatar for Vow of strength to increase damage output. I have used this build to get me through most of the game and I last longer than the tanks in my parties XD. I will provide times and descriptions once I can get them word for word, or once I learn how to do the skills link thing. Feel free to comment. Happy Hunting.

I have ran thro most of the game with Kijik, this build does tank real well, damage output is about the same as a Axe warrior.(14 axe mastery) Also the speed boost has saved party wipe a time or too

Just wanted to point out that you have "16" Mysticism... but 12+1+3 = 15, not 16. ;-) Not sure if you meant another addition in there or not.

Looking forward to trying this buid, however, I can't find mystic regeneration. I have searched here and wiki but no luck.
Everything else is set and I have looked at the skill trainers and the bosses that I have killed and haven't seen it.
Where can I cap Mystic Regeneration to complete this build?

You get it from Dau at the Gates of Desolation. But this was way too far into the game for me to bother with (you can't cap it from anyone either) so i did a bit of PvP and traded some Balth Faction for it, then bought it from the skill vendor in Kamadan. Other skills, like Conviction, Harrier Grasp and Victorious Sweep are also end-game skills, so while you're cashing in your Balth, pick them up aswell.
For some easy Balth, just spend an hour doing Random Arena's and you'll have more Faction than you can shake a scythe at.

Thanks for the info, I'm all hooked up! I'm loving this build and just about had Gates of Pain mission with henches and heroes, but got greedy and careless lol.
Still couldn't find Dau I just used some of the 10k of factions I had like you suggested. Didn't realize you could do that.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Old Fart

lol my topic has turned into making fun of an error in someone else's post XD But serious guys lets get some more comments in. oh and Humanoid, glad the build is working great for you, and yah the one thing that can murder you easily is getting greedy, you can't tank 20 monsters with this build, only about 7-10 or so XD

I've used a somewhat similar build for most of the game. I used:
Mystic Regeneration
Mystic Vigor
Avatar of Balthazaar
Balthazaar's Spirit
Conviction
Vital Boon
Victorious Sweep
Rez
This skillset is heavier on defense, but not as good on offense. I was using 11+1 scythe 10 earth and 10 mysticism with no runes and it still worked out pretty well.
The only way you could handle damage better with builds like this is if you were to take veil of thorns and armor of sanctity for a constant 15 damage reduction.
In terms of attribute points, you could get a little bit more from your points if you went from a 12 9 9 split to an 11 10 10. That would boost scythe mastery to 10 and earth prayers to 11. I realize that most of your skills are in mysticism, but give it a try and see if it works better.

hmm that sounds good, but thing is I don't even need high scythe mastery, but maybe I might lower mysticism for some earth prayers buffing. Thanks for the idea Killsmith.

Well energy essentially is my armor, this build hardly needs armor at all due to the massive amount of health gain from it. Yes, the 15 armor would be nice, but the lack of energy without the radiant inisignias would cripple the build, and the runes of attunement give +2 energy IIRC to each armor piece you put them on. This build is VERY VERY heavy on energy so I need all the energy I can get, besides AoB is there for situations where I take extremely heavy damage and need the extra armor, I suppose you could remove AoB for conviction if you wished to have a permanent armor bonus..

I like Balthazar's Spirit+Essence Bond+Faithful Intervention on my dervish. Said enchantments can be cast at the beginning of the map and left up for the entire zone, with only a possible recast of Faithful if you dip below 50% health. This is MUCH lower-stress than recasting enchantments every 20 seconds, although it's a bit more annoying if they get stripped. I usually use Mystic Regeneration with them- it's kind of nice to have +12 pips of health regeneration whenever you want them.
Victorious Sweep is VERY nice- unconditional +dmg, low energy cost, low recharge, and it heals you. The way I have it, I can run with only 8 Earth Prayers 'cuz the only Earth skill I'm using is Mystic Regeneration, which hits 3 regen at 8. I don't have Conviction yet, but it would be nice to have. Other than that, I use Mystic Sweep and whatever elite I want, often Avatar of Balthazar. With Windwalker Insignias, my Dervish survives better than my warrior, because my warrior's set as a damage-dealer now .

Fantastic build dude this works really well, even on my level 14 dervish . I like this a lot i outlasted a level 20 and his heroes on a mission (even though i still cant beat it. I have a suggestion u should maybe use avatar of Lyssa for the extra energy cause this build is very manageable i usually find myself not needing the extra armor.
overall id give this build a 9.2/10.0 very nice
(only problem was i needed about 25k to make this build possible, even though it is definitely worth it cause I'm going to use it all through the game, probably because i needed to buy max armor)

Hmm Avenge, I like the idea for Lyssa, I could use that for some of the lower level farming, when I don't need to prepare to get slammed by enemies, but avenge, keep in mind that later in the game the enemies will hit alot harder and faster, so Balth is definitely nice, but I have a minor change to make into the build that could allow you to incorporate Lyssa.
